Will it glorify God?
“Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.” (1 Cor. 10:31; 1 Pet. 4:11 14)
Can it be done for the Lord?
“Whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.” (Col. 3:23; Eph. 6:6 7; Zech. 7:5 6)
Can it be done in Jesus’ name?
Whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus. (Col. 3:17; James 2:7)
How about its appearance to others?
“Abstain from all appearance of evil”. (1 Thes. 5:22; Rom. 12:17)
Would it hinder another Christian?
“It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or made weak.” (Rom. 14:21; 1 Thes. 2:10)
Does it involve the wrong company?
“Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers.” (2 Cor. 6:14; 2 Ch. 19:2; Psalm 1:1; Prov. 4:14 15)
Does it compromise me?
“All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.” (1 Cor. 6:12; 1 Thes. 4:7)
Does it edify?
“Follow after things wherewith one may edify another.” (Rom. 14:19; 15:2; 1 Cor. 5:11; 14:26; 2 Cor. 12:19; 13:10)
Is it God’s will for me?
“I came to do the will of Him that sent me.” (Jn. 4:34; Mt. 26:39; 1 Pt. 4:2)
What fruit will it reap?
“Be not deceived, God is not mocked, for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” (Gal. 6:7; Rom. 6:21 22)
Is it what I want to reap in my children? My grandchildren?
“Our fathers have sinned….and we have borne their iniquities.” (Lam. 5:8; Is. 14:21; Jer. 16:10 12)
Am I willing to face it in judgement?
“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in the flesh;… whether it be good or bad.” (2 Cor. 5:10; Rom. 14:12; 1 Pt. 4:5,17; Col.3:25)
Is it something that will stop my rejoicing in the Lord?
“Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say rejoice.” (Phil. 4:4)
Is it something that would keep me from praising the Lord?
“Seven times a day do I praise thee….” (Psalm 119:164)
